Use figures for the installation conditions
A bag’s area coverage depends on how the product is applied. Tile backs, substrate flatness, trowel technique and application thickness all matter. The tile adhesive calculator does not infer a consumption rate from tile size or choose a trowel for you.
Compare rate and coverage correctly
A 25 kg bag covering 6.25 m² corresponds to 4 kg/m². Both methods produce the same mass when their assumptions match. Check whether a quoted coverage is for one bag, one kilogram or another amount before entering it.
Avoid counting additional application twice
An extra rate can represent separately specified application, but only if it is absent from the main coverage figure. Enabling an extra 0.5 kg/m² on 12 m² adds 6 kg before allowance. It is a separate input, not a recommendation for every tile installation.
Pool only the same product
Different zones may use different application rates while drawing from the same bag product. Different products or bag masses need separate estimates. After combining mass and adding your allowance, the tool rounds once to complete bags.
