How to use
Choose a supported payment-account preset or enter custom fee rates. Enter one modeled order: item price, shipping charged to the buyer, gift wrapping and your product and fulfilment costs. Optional fields cover buyer tax collected by Etsy, Offsite Ads attribution, other order costs and an entered tax amount on fees.
Check the rates against your own account and the official Etsy policies. The tool is not connected to Etsy and does not retrieve your transactions. Non-USD scenarios can require your own currency amount per 1 USD for the listing allocation and Offsite Ads cap.
Calculation method
Seller revenue = item price + shipping charged + gift wrapping. Transaction fees are calculated on those components. Processing uses seller revenue plus separately entered marketplace-collected buyer tax, followed by one fixed processing charge. That buyer tax is excluded from seller revenue.
Listing allocation, regulatory fee, attributed Offsite Ads and the entered tax on fees are then included as applicable. Profit = seller revenue − modeled fees − product cost − shipping cost − other costs. Margin = profit / seller revenue × 100 when revenue is positive.
The estimator rounds each transaction component separately to cents and rounds other fee categories according to its documented policy. A real statement can use different rounding or conversion timing.
Worked example
For the tool’s US example, item price 25, buyer shipping 5, product cost 10 and sending cost 5 give revenue 30. With the example fee settings, transaction components round to 1.63 and 0.33, processing is 1.15, and listing allocation is 0.20. Total modeled fees are 3.31 and profit is 11.69, before any excluded charges or seller income taxes.
Check the scope
One order is modeled, not a complete shop ledger. Refunds, unsold listings, multiple-item orders, subscriptions, deposit fees and automated tax treatment are excluded. Listing allocation is an expense allocation, not necessarily a new charge at checkout. Offsite Ads applies only where the order is attributed and eligible.
Read Etsy’s fee policy and processing table. For broader pricing use margin and markup; for operating targets use break-even.
